Listed Below are the Mon Repos Beach - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.Mon Repos Beach (Turtle Sands) is located 14 km from Bundaberg on the road to Bargara Beach. Mon Repos Beach is an Environmental Park established to protect breeding turtles and the beach areas they use for laying their eggs and to provide opportunities for seeing turtles on the shore. There is restricted access to the sandy seashore throughout the breeding season. You can join a guided tour by rangers each evening to watch Flatback, Green and Loggerhead turtles nest on the sandy seashore and the young turtles return to the ocean after hatching. The reserve also has other natural environments to explore including mangroves and tidal lagoons and several historic sites. The resort town of Bargara Beach is just a short drive from Turtle Sands, has more developed tourist facilities and a broad variety of places to stay. During the day, Mon Repos is a favourite spot for swimming and sailing. At the south end of the beach is Coachhouse Creek estuary that has diverse wildlife in the mangrove flat habitats. Bert Hinkler's historic glider flight occurred here and he attained the size of 30ft in his first solo flight when he was 19 years of age.
