It features more than 20 km of golden sandy beach, with a back-drop of natural woodland, fringed by of casuarinas, pandanus palms and tea trees. Moore Park boasts a wide range of facilities supporting many recreational activities including: swimming, surfing, angling, sea-kayaking, canoeing and generally playing, walking and enjoying the beach. The 10 km stretch of beach at the northern end, which is accessable via 4 Wheel Drive Vehicles leads to the attractive entrance of the Kolan River, which is popular for fishing. Surf carnivals, triathlons and other events are frequently held at Moore Park. There is a variety of beachfront places to stay available including: camping and cabins at the caravan park, motel rooms, seaside houses and units. Moore Park also has a general store, cafe, petrol station and bowls club. At night, Moore Park is frequented by Loggerhead and Green turtles during the summer months and visitors can watch their activities. The abundant environment reserves and dry rainforest pockets in the area are great for wildlife and birds, particularly at Sylvan Sands and Golden Sands to the north.
