Morawa is a small wheatbelt service town and small tourist centre in the Golden Outback Region of Western Australia, located about 170 km south-east of Geraldton and 370 km north of Perth, on the railway line between Mullewa and Wongan Hills. The surrounding rural area is mostly focused on sheep grazing, cereal and legume crops and wheat farming. Throughout the district there are many Aboriginal sites and artefacts for visitors to see. During the months of August to October there is a beautiful display of wildflowers throughout the region. Attractions in the town include many historic buildings - the Old Presbytery, the Church of the Holy Cross and Morawa Museum, with the Old Gaol and Courthouse as the centrepieces for the town. The Museum has a wonderful collection of windmills and vintage farm machinery and equipment. The windmill collection is renowned world wide. Morawa has a hotel/motel, a small shopping centre, a caravan park and two farm stays. There are many attractions and activities available for visitors in Morawa and in the surrounding district.
