Moreton Island - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions
- Where to Go, What to See and Do

Listed Below are the Moreton Island - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.
Moreton Island offshore from Brisbane in Moreton Bay, is only a short boat trip from Manly or Scarborough. It is one of the largest sand islands in Australia and most of it is set aside as National Park, providing an ideal destination for holiday-makers and eco-tourists who appreciate the natural environment. You can hand feed wild dolphins at the famous Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. The freshwater Blue Lagoon at the northern end of the island has beautiful birdlife and wildflower displays. The villages on the island include Bulwer, Cowan Cowan, Cape Moreton, Kooringal and Tangalooma. The oldest Queensland lighthouse at Cape Moreton began its task of protecting shipping on February 14, 1857. The many coral reefs and wrecks in the area provide ideal locations for snorkeling and scuba diving. Other popular water sports are swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and surfing. The famous Tangalooma Wrecks provide outstanding scuba diving. Moreton Island has no sealed roads and a 4WD vehicle is a necessity for driving along the sandy tracks and beaches for exploring this island paradise. You can bring your own over on the ferry, or hire one on the island or the mainland. There is a wide range of accommodation in the villages on the island and beautiful camping areas.
