Mossman is a picturesque sugar-cane town located beside the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park. Mossman is a friendly vibrant community that welcomes visitors to its historic pubs and local produce stores along the wide tree-lined main street. Mossman`s main tourist attraction is the renowned Mossman Gorge located a few minutes west of the town in the National Park. Just a short walk up the bush track you will find delightful cascades and fast flowing waters of the Mossman River. The crystal clear mountain stream plunges over and around huge granite bounders and into lovely pools that provide a wonderful place for a swim. Take your goggles and see the freshwater crayfish and fish species such as the Sooty Grunter, Jungle Perch and Archer fish. You can also walk along the many fantastic bushwalks in the area or take a guided tour run by the local aboriginal people who also have displays of traditional dancing and artefact displays. The other main attractions are the Mossman Sugar Mill, the Mossman Golf Course and the historic buildings.
