Listed Below are the Mount Field Nat Park - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.Mount Field National Park is one of the most popular and attractive national parks in Tasmania and features a wonderful variety of scenic features and wildlife, with great facilities for day visitors and camping areas. It offers a unique diversity in vegetation, ranging from massive tree ferns, tall swamp gum forests, rainforest and alpine vegetation in the higher areas. There are two major sections - the first is near the park entrance and includes picnic facilities, the famous Russell Falls and stunning walks through enormous fern forests and very tall trees. In winter visitors can enjoy the limited downhill skiing at a small ski field above Lake Dobson, or cross-country skiing further afield. You can learn more about the history and ecology of the park at the Visitor Centre near the entrance to the park. Some of the short walks in the park include: # Lady Barron Falls Circuit (1.75 hours) # Russell Falls (20 minutes) # Tall Trees Walk (30 minutes) # Pandani Grove (30-40 minutes) # Tarn Shelf (four to eight hours). You can camp or park your caravan in powered or unpowered sites and cabins are also available.
