The renowned surfing beaches at Mudjimba Beach, located north of the Maroochy River, are favourites for serious surfers which the swell is large. But the beach also offers safe swimming for the whole family in calmer seas and the beach is patrolled on weekends and during holidays. Mudjimba Beach has a wide unspoilt sandy beach that is ideal for beach walks. The beach foreshore has lovely shady trees, grassy dunes and parks with picnic facilities. The fishing from the beach is excellent and the North Shore of the nearby Maroochy River, is another favourite spot for angling. There is a wide range of wonderful places to stay on the beachfront and in the surrounding towns and villages.
