Mulwala is a twin-town to Yarrawonga, located on the Victorian side of the lake. Visitors have access to all the attractions and activities offered by both towns and the magnificent Lake Mulwala. The artificial lake was formed in the 1930s by the building of a weir across the Murray River. Lake Mulwala is more than 20 km long and is a wonderful venue for a huge array of water activities, including canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing and water-skiing. See the canoe tree at Kyffins Reserve and the collection of historic farming implements and equipment at the Yarrawonga/Mulwara Pioneer Museum. There is wonderful camping along the river and excellent swimming at one of the many sandy beaches along the river. Visit a cellar door and taste the beautiful local wines and talk with the wine makers.
