The holiday town and fishing village of Nambucca Heads is located about 500 km north of Sydney, on a headland at the mouth of the Nambucca River. It is a classic and very popular holiday town featuring: excellent fishing, good walking tracks, diving, boating, canoeing, kayaking, sail-boarding, kite surfing, swimming, and superb surfing and just relaxing on the glorious local beaches. The main beach at Nambucca Heads is great for surfing. The beach is patrolled during summer months, at weekends and during school holidays. Nambucca Heads has a wide variety of accommodation on the beachfront and riverfront and has a large range of facilities for many holiday activities. Nambucca Heads is a fishing paradise with a large range of great spots - the estuary, beach, river, rocky headlands and of course offshore. You can launch your own boat or join a fishing charter boat. The fish species most commonly caught on the beach and in the estuary are: whiting, bream, flathead and mullet.
