Old Bar Beach, located about 20 km minutes from Taree and 300 km north of Sydney, is a great holiday and weekend getaway destination. There are three major beaches within a short 5 km drive and Old bar has great tourist facilities with a range of local restaurants, cafes or the local club. There is good boat ramp access to Manning River for fantastic boating and excellent fishing. The whole family can enjoy unspoilt and secluded beaches suitable for general swimming, bodyboarding and surfing, canoeing, windsurfing, kite surfing, beach fishing and simply relaxing on the beach. You can travel a short distance inland and enjoy horse riding, bush walking and many scenic attractions such as Ellenborough Falls. The annual Old Bar Beach Festival is much-see event that attracts thousands of people in October each year. There are many places to stay close to the beachfront at Old Bar Beach and very good facilities for couples and families.
