Orange, located on the Mitchell Highway, about 260 km west of Sydney, has fabulous attractions and great facilities for holiday makers and weekend getaways. There is lots to see and do including Orange town centre with its beautiful parks and Botanic Gardens, Wine Tasting, fresh produce, three excellent golf courses, and Lake Canobolas Reserve, at the foot of Mt Canobolas, which has BBQ and picnic facilities, a large tranquil lake and many scenic bush walking tracks. Local produce ranges from sheep`s cheeses to stone fruit, olives, fungi and grapes. The Orange Regional Art Gallery hosts many state, national and international exhibitions throughout the year. The nearby Carcoar Dam is popular for windsurfing, sailing, swimming and fishing. You can follow the heritage trail around the many heritage buildings in Orange and the surrounding district. You can also visit the Ophir goldfields, with are 30 km from Orange. Enjoy wine tasting at one of the local boutique wineries, such as Dindima, Belgravia, or Ibis wines.
