Palmwoods is a small rural town on the Sunshine Coast near the regional centre of Nambour. Palmwoods is located 15 minutes from the beach and the Montville range and lies in the heart of the thriving arts and craft area of the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Palmwoods is surrounded by fruit farms - custard apples, pawpaw, avocado, oranges, banana plantations and sugar cane farms. Palmwoods is also close to the Blackall Range villages of Maleny, Montville and Mapleton. Palmwoods is also close to Kondalilla National Park. This mountain park has scenic cliff-top picnic area, and the famous Koondalilla Falls in rugged rainforest with mahogany, cedar, bunya and hoop pine.
