Pelican is located on the shores of Lake Macquarie, just 30 minute south of Newcastle and only 15 minutes from Warners Bay with all its restaurants and cafe's and along the lake foreshore. Pelican Flat is located near the entrance to Lake Macquarie on the Swansea channel. The area is backed by Little Pelican Reserve. There is excellent swimming for families at Pelican Flat. There are excellent boat ramps in the area and fantastic sheltered beaches, inlets and coves. Heading towards Sydney you'll pass Swansea and the channel, which is an exceptional spot for fishing, boating and diving.
