Port Sorell is a small holiday town in the North Central Region of Tasmania, located at the entrance of the Rubicon River. Port Sorell has a charming and friendly community which is a very popular fishing spot and has excellent facilities and a wide range of attractions. Across the bay from Port Sorell is Narawntapu National Park, Bakers Beach and Archers Knob. The bay at Port Sorell has a number of small islands that ca be explored by canoe, kayak or boat. The wonderful beaches on the coast and the beautiful waters of the estuary create a fantastic setting for a wonderful holiday. Fishing is very popular from the beaches, shore, jetty and from boats in the estuary and river, and offshore in the waters of Bass Strait. Boat ramps are available at Port Sorell, Squeaking Point and Hawley. Both Freers Beach and Hawley Beach have fantastic beaches for surfing and swimming and are also popular with sailboarders and kite surfers. The long expanse of sand at Bakers Beach is a very popular and there are camping facilities. There is a wide variety of accommodation available on the beach and waterfront in Port Sorell.
