Queenscliff is a favourite seaside resort which is features bay and ocean beaches, boating and fishing destination and art galleries, antique and specialty shops, stylish hotels, guesthouses, apartments, beautiful historic buildings, fine restaurants, cafes and an excellent golf course. On one side of Queenscliff is Swan Bay and, on the other, Shortland Bluff which overlooks the channels leading into Port Phillip Bay. Queenscliff began as a tiny fishing port then became a trendy holiday destination for Melbourne's and Geelong's population and fishing and tourism are the main sources of income for this charming town. Modern ferries ply between Sorrento and Queenscliff taking around 40 minutes for the journey across the entrance to Port Phillip Bay. Take a train ride on the wonderful Bellarine Peninsula Railway that runs from Drysdale to historic Queenscliff station, or enjoy live blues performers on board the Blues Train.
