Rathmines is situated on the western shore of Lake Macquarie about 30 km south of Newcastle and adjacent to Myuna Bay. During World War II, Rathmines used to be a Flying Boat Base. Rathmines has excellent lake access with a jetty and boat ramps and is ideal for swimming, sailing, boating, cruising, swimming or fishing. There are many beautiful ocean beaches on the coast nearby. Toronto and many small towns and villages in the region have many attractions and great facilities. There is a wide range of accommodation on the waterfront in Rathmines, and in the adjoining towns and Toronto.
