Rosebery is a mining town in the North West Region of Tasmania, located on the West Coast at the northern end of the West Coast Range, below Mount Black. Rosebery lies adjacent to the Pieman River and Lake Pieman. The mine at Rosebery has yielded lead, zinc, copper, gold, and silver worth millions of dollars. Pasminco Mine conducts tours of the mine area both above and below ground. Just 10 minutes drive from town you can walk to see Tasmania`s highest waterfall - Montezuma Falls. You can take the walk along the old tram route or travel in comfort on a 4WD drive tour. The Montezuma Falls are 113 metres high. Other attractions include: # Mount Read is 1588 m high and offers superb views of the entire area. Mount Murchison rises to 1275 m but is a difficult walk. Mount Farrell is 712 m high, offering wonderful views over to Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair National Park.
