It is the gateway to Ninety Mile Beach, East Gippsland, the Holey Plains State Park, the Strzelecki Ranges and the Latrobe Valley. Rosedale has many historic buildings including the Mechanics Institute, St Mark`s Church and Nambrok. Rosedale is at the heart of a shire which includes Holey Plains State Park and Ninety Mile Beach. Holey Plains State Park, located about 5 km from Rosedale, is renowned for its small swamps, wetlands, forest areas and woodlands of peppermint, banksia, white and prickly stringybark, the rare Gippsland grey box and golden grevilleas. In Spring there is a fabulous display of a wide variety of wildflowers. Vistors can enjoy a wonderful range of drive-yourself tours and bushwalks (see local pamphlets for details. Holey Hill is an excellent spot for picnics and BBQs. It can be accessed by travelling along the Stradbroke to Rosedale Road.
