Second Valley is somewhat similar to the coast of Greece and is located near Normanville on the Fleurieu Peninsula. It is an excellent holiday base or weekend destination for enjoying all the delightful attractions of the Fleurieu Peninsula including its famous vineyards and wineries, beaches, scenery, fishing and boating. There is excellent fishing from the beach, rocks or beach, from the local jetty. There is an excellent boat ramp and marina for boat owners and you can join charter fishing boats to fish on off-shore reefs. The scenery along the coast is magnificent, with rugged headlands, stunning cliffs and quiet isolated beaches. You can take a fantastic adventurous day trip to Kangaroo Island, via the ferry that departs from the Cape Jervis ferry terminal which is only about 25 km away. There are many walking trails in the region for bush walking including the renowned Heysen Trail. The old navy destroyer HMAS Hobart, was scuttled offshore between Second Valley and Normanville creating an artificial reef for marine life and has become a popular scuba diving site. There is a beautiful caravan park and many other accommodation options on the beachfront at Second Valley.
