Sherbrooke is surrounded by the magnificent Dandenong Ranges National Park (over 3000 hectares) which provides the major attractions for visitors and the focus for recreational activities. It provides great opportunities for picnicking, mountain biking, bushwalking, sightseeing, bird watching, nature observation and scenic drives. The Park is divided into five major sections. The southern most section of over 800 hectares is known as Sherbrooke, which extends from Sherbrooke in the north to Sherbrooke in the south, and extends to the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road in the north-west. This section can be accessed from the Monbulk Road which passed through the middle of the area. There are many wonderful bushwalking trails in the area. The Sherbrooke Falls Trail, which starts on Sherbrooke Road, will take you through forest areas with tree fern gullies, crystal clear creeks, small waterfalls and cascades. Along the way you may hear the sound of lyrebirds, bellbirds, whipbirds, kookaburras and rosellas and see the rich wildlife.
