Shute Harbour is a small waterfront village located about 10 kilometres south-east of Airlie Beach. It is one of the departure port for ferries, cruise vessels and supply barges for the Whitsunday Island Resorts. It is also the home port for many fishing charter operations and other tourist cruises. Shute Harbour has a large pretty sheltered inlet, dotted with boats and is lined by steep, wooded shores. It is generally a hive of boating activities and a working port. Shute harbour is very scenic and attractive and has recently been upgraded to include waterfront cafes, restaurants and accommodation options. There is also excellent fishing in the Shute Harbour Inlet.
