Slade Point - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions
- Where to Go, What to See and Do

Listed Below are the Slade Point - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.
Slade Point was discovered and named by Captain James Cook, after the naval architect Sir Thomas Slade, who designed Nelson`s H.M.S. Victory. The small village overlooks Slade Bay and is located close to Mackay Harbour and 15 minutes from the centre of Mackay. An attractive feature is the Slade Point Nature Reserve which stretches about 73 hectares and contains remnants of coastal dunes and Melaleuca wetlands that originally covered much of the area. Many of the holiday and residential houses have coastal views. Visitors can walk through the reserve to Lamberts Beach and Slade Point. On the other side of McReady`s Creek there are popular fishing spots and this is a good place for catching mackerel and reef fish.
