Smoky Bay is a small fishing and tourist town located on the Far Western Coast of South Australia, west of Adelaide, which is very popular for recreational fishing, with an excellent boat ramp and jetty. Smoky Bay is also an important area for aquaculture especially for oysters. Smoky Bay is located on a long, sandy beach with a boat ramp that offers goo access for fishing and boating activities. The surrounding farming areas are used for cropping and sheep grazing. The bay is a wonderful area for wildlife and seabirds, including Seals which enter the bay from the offshore islands. Smoky Bay has a wide range of accommodation including holiday houses and a caravan park. Recreational fishing is popular from the jetty, shore and boats, and sailing, kayaking, swimming, snorkelling and diving are also popular. The local oyster industry is also a major tourist attractions with guided tours available for visitors.
