The region is famous for the spectacular display of tulips at Table Cape during the region`s festival in October each year. Somerset has much to offer tourists and holiday makers including: the elusive platypus in the streams, beautiful long sandy beaches, fairy penguins that come ashore along the coast, fabulous local cheeses, berries, fruit and seafood. The natural areas in the area feature many waterfalls, caves and magnificent bushwalking. Favourite pastimes include: boating, swimming, fishing, diving, canoeing, kayaking and surfing and just relaxing on the beach. There is a wide range of accommodation on the waterfront at Somerset.
