Stansbury is a wonderful holiday town situated on the beautiful waters of Oyster Bay on the Yorke Peninsula, about 250 km from Adelaide in South Australia. It is a popular fishing, holiday, weekend retreat and tourist destination for families, groups and couples. It is great base for a wonderful holiday exploring the surrounding region. Stansbury is only about 100 km from the magnificent scenery and attractions of Innes National Park in the south and the Copper Coast in the north. The extensive sandy beach and protected waters of the bay are ideal for family play, swimming, boating, crabbing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and fishing from the jetty, headland, shore or boat. There is a beautiful park along the shore and the jetty reserve, with shaded BBQ and picnic facilities. Angling catches include mullet, tommie ruff, King George Whiting, garfish, and squid. Crabs can be snared in the shallow water off the beach or caught from the jetty or from your own or a hired boat. Oysters and fresh seafood are available are there are many excellent cafes, restaurants and food outlets. There are the three coastal walking trails close to the town for bushwalking and cycling. There are many places to stay close to the waterfront in Stansbury and many fantastic attractions and activities to enjoy in the area.
