Stanwell Park is a beautiful beach at the southern end of the Royal National Park, about 50 km south of Sydney. Stanwell Tops and Stanwell Park and are the first towns after the Royal National Park when travelling south from Sydney and the northernmost suburbs of North Wollongong beaches. Stanwell Park is famous as being the home of Lawrence Hargrave, who invented the box kite and was one of the founding fathers of modern aviation. Stanwell Park is still very popular for hang gliding and is well known for its beautiful surfing beaches spectacular coastal and cliff scenery, beaches, picnic areas.
