A large colony of little penguins that live at Summerland Beach walk up the beach from the ocean to their burrows at dusk each day, and this has become known as the popular Penguin Parade. You can watch the parade from the observation boardwalks and specially constructed viewing stands, and at Phillip Island Nature Park. It is essential to book your tickets for the Parade and tours. The Penguin Parade Visitor Centre at Phillip Island Nature Park also has excellent interactive computer displays about the penguins, a simulated demonstration of life at sea and a live demonstration of penguin life in the burrow.
