Thirroul is a popular residential suburb as well being so close to beaches and only 80 minutes by train from Sydney. Thirroul Beach has a beautiful sweeping beach of golden sand, fringed by a large park with a playground and close to cafes, restaurants and shops. The town also has an arts background. In 1922, DH Lawrence lived in Thirroul and wrote some of his famous Australian novel `Kangaroo` at this small town. Thirroul has very good facilities for a wide range of recreational activities.
