The small town of Tomakin lies on the coast at the mouth of the Tomaga River, only 10 km east from Mogo, about 20 km north of Moruya and 20 km south of Batemans Bay. The Tomakin area has spectacular coastline and beautiful beaches which are very popular for family holidays and weekend getaways. Tomakin is a perfect base to discover all that the Nature Coast has to offer - National Parks, forests, beaches, headlands, coastline and waterways. There is a licensed club in the village and all the tourist facilities of Batemans Bay are only a short drive to the north. You can visit the famous Mogo Zoo, where animals are kept in an attractive rural setting. Mossy Point and Tomakin have excellent fishing and excellent boat ramps. You can hire boats at Tomakin. The main species targeted are: Bream, flathead, whiting, mullet, prawns and blue swimmer crabs in season. You can try fishing near the rock walls, at the river mouth, from the jetties and along the edge of the sand, weed and mud flats.
