Trial Bay and the nearby town of South West Rocks are situated about half way between Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie on the North Coast of New South Wales. Trial Bay is a very popular as for camping and caravans and is a favourite spot for couples and families, who return each year for their holidays. The fishing and boating is magnificent, and you can stay in your tent or van right on the beach at the caravan park or at one of the fine beachfront houses and apartments in the area. The Trial Bay Gaol built in 1877 of locally quarried gray and pink granite has a fascinating museum that is well worth a visit. The sheltered waters of Trail Bay are a great place for sail boarding, canoeing, kayaking, kite surfing, boating and sailing. The scenery around Trial Bay and South West Rocks are magnificent. The National Parks along the coast in this area are also worth visiting: for example Hat Head National Park has great bushwalking tracks, lonely beaches and an array of fascinating flora and fauna.
