It is located in the northern part of the West Coast Range, about 110 km south of Burnie. Tullah was originally a mining town and was later used as a construction town during the development of the Pieman Scheme and the Pieman River Dam. It is now a tourist destination with the beautiful Lake Rosebery on the edge of town and a favourite fishing spot. You can enjoy a wonderful trip about the Wee Georgie Wood Steam Railway that has been renovated and restored to operation on a short length of track on the Murchison Highway. Hire a mountain bike or take a guided wilderness walk on the magnificent tracks around the town. Launch your canoe or kayak and explore the lake or Henty River with an experienced guide, or take a horseback tour through the area.
