The Urangan Pier was completed in 1917, is about a kilometre long and it is ideal for a scenic walk and fishing. Beside of the pier is a sea wall that separates the beach from the Esplanade. There is a fantastic marina at the eastern end of the Bay, which is the departure point for whale watching cruises and boat trips to Fraser Island. The Great Sandy Region Botanic Garden is a great place to visit and you can also see the remains of an Aboriginal fish trap at Urangan. There is a wide variety of waterfront accommodation available.
