The Great Lakes are wonderful network of interconnected rivers, lakes and waterways that include Wallis Lake, Myall Lake and Smiths Lake and the estuary, rivers and stream of the Myall River. The region is renowned for its beautiful clear waters and excellent boating in the myriad of waterways and Wallis Lake is one of the favourites with tourists. At the entrance to Wallis Lake is the popular holiday destination of Forster/Tuncurry with its fabulous array of holiday accommodation, facilities, activities and entertainment. Wallis Lake is about 10 km wide and 20km long and it is paradise for boating, angling, kayaking, canoeing, waterskiing and sailing. There are many picnic areas ramps, beaches, coves and various access points to the lake, dotted around its shores.
