Listed Below are the Waratah - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.
Waratah is a historic mining town, close to the Tarkine Reserve in the North West Region of Tasmania, located about 30 km from Burnie and 40 km from the Wynyard Airport. Waratah was originally built to support a tin mine at Mount Bischoff. The town is built at the top of a magnificent waterfall and has a fascinating heritage. You can visit the Kenworthy Stamper Mill a working historical artefact in a purpose-built tourist facility in the centre of town. You can also explore the Courthouse Museum with its wonderful collection of local historical artefacts, photos and heritage stories. Waratah is a good base for exploring the Tarkine, and you can choose from a range of accommodation including bed and breakfasts, a caravan park and camping ground and hotel accommodation. Lake Waratah is a pleasant central point in the town with picnic and barbecue facilities and walks to the falls and the dam wall.
