The Warburton district is a very popular tourist destination, with its scenic mountain views and wide range of things to see and do. The picturesque Yarra River winds through the township and the river is lined with beautiful picnic spots and walking tracks. Local attractions include restaurants, cafes, art and craft shops and of course many boutique wineries. The old Warburton to Lilydale railway branch line which closed in 1965, is now used for the Warburton Trail, that is used by walkers, cyclists and horse-riders. East of Warburton is the scenic Upper Yarra Dam. Stroll along the Yarra River Walk with follows the Yarra River for almost 3 km long pathway along the river with many interesting features such as the swing bridge in Story Reserve. The scenic La La Falls are situated off Old Warburton Road, south of the town.
