- Where to Go, What to See and Do

Listed Below are the Watarrka-Kings Canyon - Holiday Activities, Tours, Attractions - Find where to Go, what to See and Do.
Watarrka National Park, located about 450km southwest of Alice Springs, contains the western end of the George Gill Range and includes scenic landscape of rugged ranges, rockholes and gorges that acts as a vital refuges for many plants and animals, making the Park a major attraction and an important conservation area in central Australia. Most visitors come to view the spectacular Kings Canyon with its stunning vertical walls and clumps of `lush` vegetation sheltered in gullies and surrounded by the large and harsh desert that surrounds the Park. The ancient sandstone walls in Kings Canyon, weathered by wind and the elements, rise up100m to a plateau of rocky domes. There are two walking tracks in the Canyon area. There is no accommodation within the Park itself, and camping is not permitted. However there is excellent accommodation available at nearby Kings Creek Station, Kings Canyon Resort and Kings Creek Wilderness Lodge.
