The beach is small, picturesque, cozy and very charming and generally has a small surf suitable for Malibu boards. It has stunning views of the Cape Byron Headland. It is a heaven for long boarders and great for families with an adjoining park and BBQ area. The nature reserve at Cape Byron has many fine walking tracks, and an array of small coves and rocky shoreline to explore. You can walk to the lighthouse from the beach. Whales and Dolphins can often be seen from the beach and headland. Watego`s Beach has many exclusive houses on the slopes overlooking the beach. It is ideal for surfing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking and generally enjoying a great day at the beach. Get there early as it is very popular and there is only a small car park - better still ride your bike there, or paddle around from Byron Bay!
