Wilsons Promontory, which is fondly called `The Prom`, is one of Victoria`s best-known attractions located about 90 km south-east of Melbourne, It is renowned for its wonderful scenery, secluded beaches, great views, rainforests, natural areas, coastal lake systems, rock formations and its abundant wildlife. Visitors also enjoy the local fresh produce, meats, cheeses and wines in Koonwara region. Fishing is a popular at Port Franklin and Port Welshpool and in the Tarwin River. Sandy Bay, Waratah Bay, Walkerville and Venus Bay are popular locations for swimming, windsurfing, surfing, canoeing, kayaking and other water sports. There is over 100 km of walking trails to explore in the Wilsons Promontory National Park. The information centre for `The Prom` is situated at Korumburra.
