Wonboyn Lake, located about 25km south of Eden, is surrounded by unspoilt beaches, pristine forests, abundant wildlife and birdlife. It is an ideal holiday destination for couples and families with its beautiful coastal landscapes, bushwalking, swimming, surfing, boating, bird watching, diving and fishing. Wonboyn is famous for its fishing, providing some of the best beach, lake, boat, rock, estuary and game fishing on the far South Coast of Ne South Wales. The lake is renowned for its catches of bream, flathead, luderick, whiting, flounder, jewfish, trevally and tailor. Beach anglers target - flathead, tailor, whiting, bream and Australian salmon. The lake is about 10 km long and drains into the sea via a narrow channel at Disaster Bay. There are excellent, secluded picnic areas at both ends of Disaster Bay at Baycliff and Greenglades. Wonboyn Lake lies adjacent to the Nadgee/Croajingolong Wilderness area, which provides excellent bushwalking and nature appreciation areas for the unique flora and fauna in the area.
