The town is surrounded by small farms and craft folk who revel in this beautiful environment. Some of the local attractions are the Peppermint Bay Restaurant, Regnans art gallery, the Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio and Gardens, Grandvewe Sheep Cheesery, Fleurtys herb garden and restaurant, and the beautiful collection of guest house accommodation and bed and breakfasts. Woodbridge is one of the most attractive small towns on the Channel. Kettering, the ferry terminal for trips to Bruny Island, is just a few kilometres north. Close by is Conningham Beach, which has beautiful scenery, excellent swimming and wonderful fishing. The Marine Discovery Centre at Woodbridge which has been developed and maintained by the Woodbridge District High School, encourages students to learn, enjoy and care for the marine environment. Built over the water, the Centre houses an aquarium room, touch tanks, a fully equipped teaching areas, marine pond and displays of marine life and fishing methods and equipment. The Centre has a marine farming lease and its own research vessel. There are a wide range of fine accommodation at Woodbridge with is an excellent base to stay and explore all the attractions of the local Kingston region.
