Yalata Roadhouse is located about 51 km west of Nundroo and 95 km east of Nullarbor Roadhouse in the Far West Coast Region of South Australia, near the border with Western Australia. The roadhouse is owned and operated by the local Anangu Aboriginal community who provide fuel, repairs, food and Aboriginal artefacts and a range of souvenirs, to the passing tourists. The surrounding Yalata Lands belong to the Anangu people. Visit the Head of Bight in the Aboriginal and Nullarbor National Park area, where you can often see Southern Right Whales during their winter calving migration. The whales use the Bight as their breeding grounds. The famous Bunda cliffs also start at the Head of Bight. These cliffs and are a wonderful spectacle and attract many photographers trying to capture the spectacular views and scenery. Dotted along the Yalata coastline there are several isolated and remote camping areas including The Granites, Yalata Beach, Goombarra, Goyas Beach and The Hilton, which are wonderful spots to stay and enjoy surfing, swimming and fishing in splendid isolation.
