It was built by the famous entrepreneur Alan Bond, and is a very popular tourist destination. Close to Yanchep is the Yanchep National Park, with its spectacular limestone caves, including guided tours of Crystal Cave. The park also features bushwalking trails, koala displays, tuart tree forests, very exclusive wildflower walks in season, and the Loch McNess lake. There is fantastic surfing, fishing at Lagoon beach, and excellent snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing in the beautiful lagoon. Yanchep has excellent facilities including marinas and launching ramps. There is a wide range of accommodation on the beachfront or on waterfront beside the lagoon.
