The annual Tarra Festival held during Easter each year, is Yarram`s major event with a country fair, a street parade, art exhibitions, `Pancakes-on-the Park` and a race meeting. Dairy farming is the major local enterprise, but fishing is a major tourist attraction, with hire and charter boats, and boat ramps, available at nearby Port Albert. There are many interesting old buildings in Yarram and in the nearby small townships of Alberton and Tarraville. The Tarra Bulga National Park offers cool climate rainforest walks, picnic facilities and tea rooms. A park information centre is open on weekends and public holidays.
